Telecom market leader, MTN Ghana has launched the “Be Wise” campaign to aid government’s fight against COVID-19.

The campaign, which was launched via all MTN Ghana social media platforms, is designed to promote the need to regularly wear the face mask and the right way to wear it.

Addressing the public in a 1.50 minute virtual launch, Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, Selorm Adadevoh stressed on the crucial need for Ghanaians to wear face masks always and correctly to help stem the spread of COVID-19.

According to him, Ghana’s best bet at tackling the coronavirus pandemic is enforcing the strict wearing of face mask.

Selorm Adadevoh also opined that the fight against COVID-19 is a shared responsibility, saying that the current generation of Ghanaians need to wear face mask regularly and correctly to save the future generations from having to wear face masks.

“Lets continue to protect ourselves and our loved ones from this global pandemic because we can win this battle only if we come together and look out for one another,” he said.

Selorm Adadevoh described the Covid-19 fight as a battle that can only be won with the face mask as a weapon, and called on all Ghanaians to “wear your face masks everywhere you go.”

“Let’s always wear our face masks and wear if correctly by letting it cover both our noses and mouth,” he advised.

The “Be Wise” comes after MTN Ghana had donated items worth GHC5 million to government to aid the fight against the pandemic. This forms past of a US$15 million package set aside by the MTN Group to fight the disease in all of its 21 operations.
