MTN partners TECNO to launch Camon 30 series, offers 15GB free data to buyers

    MTN Ghana has partnered with Tecno to launch the flagship Camon 30 smartphones series in Ghana, offering to give buyers 2.5GB free data every month for six months, totaling 15GB over the period.

    Senior Manager for Data, Devices and Home at MTN Ghana, Gloria Frempong announced the juicy offer at the launch of the devices, which are arguably the most affordable high-end smartphones on the market yet.

    She said MTN’s partnership with Tecno dates way back, and that is because Tecno provides the innovation and affordability critical for MTN to realize its digital inclusivity strategy of ensuring that everyone gets a modern connected life.

    “Tecno provides a wide range of affordable devices, and to penetrate into the market in terms smartphones and help increase smartphone usage, we need to break the affordability barrier and Tecno really provides that,” she said.

    According to her, it is on the account of the affordability and innovation Tecno provides that MTN has elected to partner with Tecno on any device launch now and in the future.

    Camon 30 comes in a series of three very affordable handsets: the regular Camon 30, which comes in two version – one with 256GB storage memory and 5GB operating memory at the cost of GHS2,945 and the other with same storage memory but 12GB operating memory at the cost of GHS3,300.

    Then there is another version that comes with  a storage memory of 512GB and 8GB operating memory at the cost of GHS4,560. The operating memory on this can be extended by another 8GB to make it work even fast.

    The ultimate one is the super fast Camon 30 Pro, which comes with 512GB storage and 24GB operating memory at the cost of GHS5,690.

    The unique selling points of the devices are vast, and they include AI-enabled, 5G-enabled, strong battery of 5,000mAh which is very conducive for heavy usage, and it comes with a 70 watt fast charger.

    The dual-SIM handset has a high definition Sony rare and selfie cameras. Both the front and rare cameras are 50 megapixels, plus there is an additional 50 megapixel camera and dual-led flash light on the rare for panoramic effect.

    The AI feature enables users to manipulate pictures taken and change the backgrounds to reflect what the user prefers. This clearly will enable users can customize pictures and can also fake their locations in pictures.

    The Camon 30 handsets also come with an infra-red feature which makes the phone a remote control device for over 7,000 appliances, including televisions, air conditioners, radio sets and many more. This means that with Camon 30, there is no need to have separate remote controls for different devices at home.

    Its tech-art leather body, described as the bionic lotus leaf leather is an industry first and it allow users to have a first grip on the phone even with sweaty palms. Plus the touchscreen is built with a unique technology to allow the user to easily operate the phone even with wet fingers or wet screen.
