In a swift response to an appeal by Citi FM, PayAngel Money Transfer has responded to the campaign by donating GHC10,000 as its contribution to a relief fund for victims of the Akosombo Dam spillage.

The water spillage has resulted in destruction of properties and displacement of thousands of households in the Volta Region of Ghana.

As an organisation committed to impacting societies, PayAngel believes the hardship faced by the affected communities require immediate alleviation, hence its response to the call for support.

Speaking on Citi Breakfast Show, Business Development Manager of PayAngel, Delali Kotoka reiterated the company’s commitment to providing further support beyond the initial amount donated.

“PayAngel won the Innovation in Payment Remittance Social Impact Award 2022 in UK due to the support we provide to local communities in Ghana, therefore our swift response to this appeal resonates with our brand’s corporate social responsibility”.

The donation was received by CEO of Citi FM and Citi TV, Samuel Attah-Mensah.

PayAngel has since launched a direct relief donation channel through their Direct to Merchant Remittance (D2MR) platform for donors in the UK, Canada, Australia and Europe to donate to the AngelCare Direct Relief for Akosombo using the PayAngel App available to download on Appstore and Playstore.
